Ohtani opened the game with a double in the first inning, then homered in the third, doubled again in the fifth and homered again in the seventh before he was walked his next five at-bats. The DH became the first player in post-season history to reach base nine times. Three players have accomplished that feat in any game, but none have done it since Chicago Cubs third-baseman Stan Hack in 1942.
