BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital has received a $25 million donation, the largest in the UVM Health Network’s history.

The donation from philanthropist and Paychex founder Thomas Golisano will be used to expand services and bring specialty care closer to patients’ homes.

Golisano invited the hospital to join nine other hospitals in forming the Golisano Children’s Alliance.

To recognize the gift, the children’s hospital will be renamed the Golisano Children’s Hospital at University of Vermont Health.
