A Delaware State Police trooper has been indicted on charges including official misconduct, assault and false reporting after state prosecutors say he lied about an incident that occurred earlier this year at Nicola Pizza in Lewes.
Master Cpl. William Walker witnessed two people having a physical altercation at Nicola on Jan. 30, the Delaware Department of Justice said in a Oct. 28 news release. The 53-year-old trooper, who was not in uniform, followed one of them outside and identified himself as a police officer "before forcibly pulling the victim back to the restaurant in a nelson hold," the release said.
