A Delaware State trooper was indicted on October 27, 2025, on charges of felony official misconduct, assault, and false reporting, in connection to an incident this past January in Lewes.
53-year old Master Corporal William Walker was off duty at a local restaurant when he witnessed an altercation.
According to the Delaware Department of Justice, Walker allegedly followed one of the people outside, identified himself as a police officer, and then forcibly restrained them while bringing them back to the restaurant.
A fight then broke out, and Walker is accused of hitting and kicking the victim.
Walker also allegedly pushed another restaurant patron to the ground, who was trying to break the fight up.
According to prosecutors Walker lied to arriving police officers about what happened.
