A family have made a desperate appeal to help a North Lanarkshire grandad "trapped" in a Tenerife hospital.

Colin McLeish had been on holiday celebrating his 70th birthday, with his wife Anne, when the dad-of-four took ill as they prepared to fly home from their trip to Playa de las Américas.

And one week later, Colin, from Cleland, remains in a private hospital on the island, where it is feared he may have suffered a stroke.

However, the family say Anne, 65, is only allowed to see her husband for just 30 minutes a day, and ha been left in the dark over his condition and treatment, reports the Daily Record .
