JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - An era of bank transactions is officially over for a Johnson City branch.

KeyBank closed its doors on Friday.

Located at the Oakdale Commons, the closure marks the beginning of one of the most anticipated developments in the area, a Chick-fil-A restaurant.

As reported by WNBF News, demolition of the structure is scheduled to start on November 17.

Spark JC, the owners of the Oakdale Commons, revealed a contract had been signed last spring for a Chick-fil-A restaurant.

Marc Newman, a Spark JC partner, told WNBF News that he doesn't know the planned construction schedule for the restaurant. The business is expected to open by the end of 2026, but there has been no formal announcement from Chick-fil-A.
