CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - A recent study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety reveals that confusion and noncompliance with Slow Down, Move Over (SDMO) laws are putting emergency responders at risk throughout the United States.
According to the study, 46 emergency responders died last year while assisting others at the roadside, including police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and tow truck operators. This statistic highlights the ongoing danger faced by those working on the roadside, as many drivers fail to adhere to SDMO laws.
