SALT LAKE CITY — Only 64% of drivers abide by the ‘Slow Down, Move Over’ laws, according to a survey by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety .

Many of the respondents to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety survey released on Tuesday said they had heard of ‘Slow Down, Move Over’ laws, but they still remained confused about which vehicles they need to steer clear of while traveling.

According to the survey, most motorists will move over for police officers , but are far less likely to move over for tow trucks or stranded vehicles.

The survey reported:

Only 58% of drivers witnessed in surveillance footage slowed down or moved over when a tow truck was stopped on a roadside.
