PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A Central Peoria man was indicted Tuesday for allegedly shooting two people in September, an incident that led to several people allegedly attacking police officers.

Adrian Morris, 29, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to court documents.

At 4:43 a.m. on Sept. 28, officers with the Peoria Police Department were called to the intersection of Monroe and Main Street to a report of a person shot, police spokesperson Semone Roth said.

When officers arrived, they found a man had been shot. While officers were giving aid and securing the scene, they were confronted with an "aggressive crowd," she said.
