ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WKRG) — A local restaurant is lending a helping hand by collecting supplies for families impacted by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica.
Many workers at OSO at Bear Point Harbor have been following the storm closely because they have family in Jamaica. When they heard about a category 5 hurricane hitting Jamaica, they knew they had to do something.
"We're here as humans to give back to one another and help each other when we can," OSO Operations Manager Brandi Limerick said. "This is a time when they need help and it's our time to step up and help."
Staff at OSO tell WKRG News 5 that this storm is hitting far too close to home for many on their team.
