(WIVT/WBGH) - A local singer is once again using her platform to help emerging musicians find their voice.

Allie Torto's online singing competition 'Virtual Voices' is returning for its fourth season.

The contest offers participants a unique chance to collaborate with Torto. Participants will use the Smule app to submit a video of themselves singing any song of their choice. Then, Torto will choose 30 people to duet with. She will later post those videos to Facebook, and the community can vote for the winner.

Submissions open November 1.

Torto says past contestants have benefited from exposure on her page. She says the competition takes the pressure off of singers looking to pursue music.
