SARANAC LAKE, N.Y. (WCAX) - The new Pendragon Theatre in Saranac Lake is just months away from completion.
Officials say they’ve been able to raise all $10 million through state funding and private donations for the theater’s new location on Woodruff Street.
The theater’s Mike Aguirre says the new facility will have more seats, separate changing rooms, and will use solar energy, cutting down on utility costs. He adds they want it to not only be a theater, but also a community gathering space for other organizations.
“We will call it an intimate space, under 200 seats, and an intimate space is really a need for the community. There does not necessarily exist a state-of-the-art performance space like we are building,” Aguirre said.
