COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -A Rampart High School senior is now allowed to include faith in her senior parking space design, despite District 20’s original decision not to let her.
Attorneys with First Liberty Institute, a national law firm focused on religious liberty cases, said senior Sophia Shumaker first submitted a design for her parking spot that included a shepherd on a hill, a staff, a sheep and the Bible text of 1 Corinthians 13:4 .
That design was initially rejected because of Rampart High School’s guidelines that prohibit anything considered “offensive, negative, rude, gang-related, political or religious.”
