SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. -- A man is in custody in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred last year in Sun Prairie, police confirmed Tuesday.
Zachary L. O'Connell, 22, was booked into the Dane County Jail Tuesday morning for tentative charges of first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
O'Connell is accused of killing William Flanary, 24, of Brookfield in an Oct. 18, 2024 shooting in the 500 block of Martin Street. The shooting injured another person.
Online court records show that O'Connell pleaded guilty to battery and disorderly conduct last month in a separate case, and was given a deferred sentencing agreement.
