BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — LSU football interim head coach Frank Wilson speaks to the media for the first time since being named the Tigers' new leader and after Brian Kelly's firing.
Wilson spoke with the media at 5:45 p.m., after a Tuesday practice.
Kelly was fired on Sunday after the loss to SEC rival Texas A&M. LSU Athletics Director Scott Woodward said that a search for a permanent head coach started immediately.
Offensive coordinator Joe Sloan was also fired. According to the university, Alex Atkins, current run game coordinator and tight ends coach, will serve as LSU’s new play-caller.
The Tigers will be under Wilson's command against rival Alabama on Saturday, Nov. 8, after a bye week.
