1Richmond Powerball ticket wins $2 million after player adds $1 Power Play

RICHMOND, VA – One lucky Powerball player in Richmond is holding a ticket worth $2 million after matching the first five numbers in Saturday night’s drawing — and doubling the prize thanks to a $1 Power Play option.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Wawa located at 7316 Forest Hill Avenue and matched the numbers 2-12-22-39-67, just missing the Powerball number 15. Normally a match of the first five numbers earns $1 million, but the extra Power Play wager multiplied the prize to a staggering $2 million.

The winner has 180 days from the October 25 draw date to claim the prize. Virginia Lottery officials urge the winner to immediately sign the back of the ticket to secure ownership before initiating the claim
