MADISON (WKOW) -- A man in Madison is recovering from his injuries after suffering serious injuries from a hit-and-run crash in early October .
Allen Clauss, 70, said he is lucky to be alive after he says he was knocked unconscious while riding his recumbent bike at the intersection of Regent Street and Monroe Street, just in front of Camp Randall.
He said a car made an illegal left turn heading westbound onto Regent Street when he was crossing the street.
The suspect driver and vehicle immediately left the scene.
Allen said he suffered 19 rib fractures, a broken right collarbone, and minor cuts and bruises.
He said he is recovering well.
"There's a lot of pain, but it's been generally pretty manageable with both over the counter and some prescription pain relievers," Clauss said.
