WAGNER, S.D. (KELO) - Federal lawmakers have just three days left to reopen the government before SNAP benefits run out for November and worry is running high for families that would be directly impacted.
"Because I don't want my kids to starve," Meisha Frankenstein, a SNAP recipient, said. "And I would actually go to the extent of me not eating so my kids could eat. I would do anything to make sure my kids eat."
Frankenstein says SNAP benefits are important because even though both her and her husband work, it's not enough to cover all the bills and put enough food on the table.
"I really do hope that something gets resolved soon because I just don't know what I would do for my family to keep going," Frankenstein said. "I know that we would have to keep trying and, you know, reach out
