DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The future of the former Lester Park Golf Course property continues moving forward.
Just one night after the Duluth City Council approved a resolution to transfer the land to the Duluth Economic Development Authority (DEDA), the city’s Planning Commission met Tuesday and voted to recommend selling the land to DEDA — but with added safeguards.
Before approving the recommendation, commissioners added contingency amendments to ensure DEDA follows through with the priorities outlined by city staff and residents.
“We’re only selling those portions that are indicated in the study,” said Commissioner Brian Hammond.
