HONEOYE FALLS, N.Y. (WROC) - The Penfield boys soccer team continues its Cinderella sectional run after an upset over Spencerport in the Class AA semifinals.
The No. 6 Patriots played visitor to second-seed Spencerport, taking down the Rangers 2-1 in overtime.
Penfield got on the board 20 minutes into the contest, as a corner kick eventually found its way to Davis Easton who connected for the goal.
Spencerport answered 14 minutes later. Christian Arcara made his way around a Penfield defender and took a shot into the back corner of the net, tying it at 1-1.
A scoreless second half then forced overtime.
Just 30 seconds into overtime, Penfield's Connor Walsh found Adam Sokolowski who took an easy shot in for the goal and the win.
Penfield (10-5-2) will face No. 1 Churchville-Chili on F
