GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - About 1,800 people gathered at Depot Park to hear Will Graham, grandson of evangelist Billy Graham, deliver a faith-based message based on the parable of the prodigal son.

“When you come home to him, you become a child of God,” Graham said during the event.

The Gainesville gathering marked the second of four stops in Graham’s Sunshine State Good News Tour across Florida. More than 135 churches across the area were involved in preparing the event.

Graham’s next stop is scheduled for Wednesday night in Sarasota.
