Bhubaneswar : The severe cyclonic storm Montha has weakened into a cyclonic storm over coastal Andhra Pradesh after making landfall near Narasapur late Tuesday night.
According to India Meteorological Department, the cyclonic storm ‘Montha’ is likely to move north-northwestwards across coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and weaken into a deep depression during the next 3 hours and into a depression during the subsequent 6 hours. The cyclone has been moving at a speed of 15 kmph and is expected to continue its north-northwestward trajectory.
As of 0530 hrs IST, the cyclone was centered near latitude 17.0°N & longitude 81.3°E, approximately 80 km northwest of Narsapur, Andhra Pradesh, 100 km west of Kakinada, 90 km north of Machilipatnam, 230 km west-southwest of Visakhapatnam, and 460
