GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — Tuesday’s meeting was calmer than the one two weeks ago — but residents still showed up angry about their water bills , saying if something doesn’t change, they’ll be forced to move.

People spoke about several different issues. The first: the rate increase.

Over the last two years, the rates have gone up 75% on paper, with an additional 25% increase expected next year. But many residents say they’ve done the math — and it doesn’t add up. They say that, even with no leaks confirmed by the town, their rates are already up by more than 100%.
