A part of the Midlands has seen the biggest jump in patients facing long waits for GP appointments anywhere in England.
Nearly 100,000 people at practices in Shropshire have been forced to wait over two weeks to see their doctor this year, more than double the total in the same period in 2020.
Since January, 92,236 appointments in the largely rural county involved waits of over 28 days, up from just 27,482 five years ago, an increase of 236%.

It comes after the Government rolled out new rules ordering GP surgeries to allow patients to book appointments online during daytime hours.
