National Highway-NH44 is India's longest highway, connecting the country from north to south.

Thousands of farmers have been protesting in Nagpur, Maharashtra, since Tuesday, demanding the fulfillment of the loan waiver promise. Led by Bachchu Kadu, leader of the Prahar Janshakti Party, farmers blocked the Nagpur-Hyderabad Highway (NH-44) for about 7 hours.

Meanwhile, in a statement, Kadu has warned that if their demands are not met, they will stop trains after 12 PM on Wednesday.

Farmers said that the government had promised loan waivers and crop bonuses during the elections, but no one has received relief so far.
