The Newcastle Knights have offset the loss of Jesse Southwell by swooping on Australian representative Kirra Dibb.
It comes after the young Novocastrian stunned the Hunter-based NRLW club to sign with 2025 champions Brisbane Broncos.
But, in Dibb, Newcastle boasts a ready-made playmaking option.
The 28-year-old, who put pen to paper on a three-season deal, brings a halves skillset, leadership and experience to the Knights squad.
She’s represented the Jillaroos, NSW Blues and Indigenous All Stars since making her debut in 2019.
Dibb is also a premiership winner, having been a member of the Newcastle outfit that claimed the 2022 title from the Parramatta Eels.
Earlier this month, she played for the Prime Minister’s XIII in the side’s 50-0 win over the PNG Orchids in Port Moresby.
