More severe thunderstorms are predicted to hit parts of Queensland less than a week after ferocious storms took down trees, damaged homes and left thousands of people without power across the state’s southeast.

A stretch of unsettled weather conditions is expected to last for several days, starting as early as Thursday and peaking with likely severe thunderstorms by Saturday afternoon.

“And that could see large hail and damaging wind gusts on Thursday, and then from Friday to Sunday severe thunderstorms are possible all through the southeast for those three days but peaking on the Saturday.”
