A childcare worker has been charged after allegedly slapping a child in the face in Sydney’s northwest.

The 43-year-old woman is accused of assaulting the three-year-old at a childcare centre in Dundas on Tuesday.

Police launched an investigation on Wednesday and arrested the woman at a Dorahy St home in Dundas about 11.30am on Thursday.

She has been charged with assaulting a school student while attending school and common assault.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Monday.

This incident follows several other recent charges against childcare workers in NSW.
