Unseasonal downpour pushes average rainfall in Gujarat to 124% October 28, 2025
Ahmedabad: Till Saturday morning, before the current spell of unseasonal rain began in Gujarat, the state had recorded 1,042.90 mm of total average rainfall — 118.26% of the 10-year average. However, as of 6 am on Tuesday, the state has received 1,097.94 mm of rainfall, which is 124.51% of the average — meaning around 55 mm (over 2 inches) of average rainfall has lashed the state in just three days.
According to data from the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), rainfall was recorded in 219 talukas across the state in the 24 hours ending at 6 am Tuesday, with Rajula in Amreli district receiving the highest — up to 8.5 inches.
