COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus City Schools held the second of three town hall meetings Tuesday night at West High School to gather community feedback on proposed $50 million budget cuts.
The meetings come as the district faces significant financial challenges, with staffing comprising nearly 90% of the district's budget. While Superintendent Dr. Angela Chapman has stated the district does not believe it is ready to place another levy on the ballot, Board of Education President Michael Cole said that the option hasn't been completely ruled out.
"That's a longer run discussion. What we want to do right now is get as much idea capital from the community, get as much feedback as we can from them and then plan accordingly as to what our next steps are gonna be," Cole said.
