: AICC in-charge for Meghalaya, Dr A Chellakumar, has ruled out any possibility of replacing Vincent Pala as the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president, saying that there is no vacancy in the position.
Responding to questions about Pala’s leadership, Dr Chellakumar defended him, saying, “How can you say that? Because somebody left the Congress party, it doesn’t mean that it is a failure of leadership.”
He added that those who leave the party are often driven by personal interests and that the Congress is not here to “fix a prize for some individuals.”
Dr Chellakumar praised Pala, saying that he is a loyal and dedicated Congressman who has served as a minister in the Union government and is working hard as PCC president.
