(NewsNation) — Michigan-based Zingerman’s Candy Manufactory is recalling two popular candy bars over the potential presence of undeclared allergens, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The voluntary recall, issued on Oct. 24, just days before Halloween, applies to Peanut Butter Crush full-size bars due to undeclared cashew and Ca$hew Cow full-size bars due to undeclared peanut.
The mix-up resulted from a "temporary breakdown in the production and packaging process," according to the announcement.
The recalled products were distributed to retailers in Michigan and New York, and so far, no injuries have been reported in connection with the recall.
