Jimmy Thelin has said his vision to bring success to Aberdeen aligns with Lutz Pfannenstiel's goals for the club.

The German was announced as the new sporting director for the Dons this week, with Pfannenstiel due to take up the role early next month.

The Scottish Cup winners have struggled to find any real consistency this season but Thelin believes the appointment of the former St Louis City chief can help the club and his team.

Thelin confirmed: "Of course, me and Lutz have spoken some times about how to look going forward and we have some ideas, so I'm looking forward to seeing him when he arrives here.
