Aberdeen's last surviving member of their first ever squad to win the Scottish League Cup has died at the age of 91, bringing an end to "another era in the club’s history."
Robert Wilson , known by fans during his playing career at Bobby, was part of the squad that beat St Mirren 2-1 in the autumn of 1955 to win the trophy at Hampden .
The right half had joined the Dons from Musselburgh Athletic the year prior to their cup success, and broke into the side after an injury to Jackie Allister.
He made his first team breakthrough in a game against Clyde in September 1955, and enjoyed a successful run to the final under Davie Shaw, beating the likes of Hearts and Rangers en route to glory.
