ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Approximately 10 million people – women and men -- experience domestic violence annually in the U.S., with 24 people per minute becoming victims, that according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It includes various forms of intimate partner violence, such as physical violence, sexual violence and stalking.
During this Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we are taking a closer look at the resources available for victims and survivors. Reanna Savage, a trauma therapist, with St. Peter's Crime Victim Services joined us this morning to share where those affected can turn for help. She also told us the most dangerous time for a survivor can be right after they leave an abusive partner.
