The National Weather Service issued a warning Wednesday morning for strong, gusty winds through the Southwestern Kenai Peninsula.

The wind storm is forecasted to last through Wednesday and diminish on Wednesday evening.

According to the NWS weather alert, strong easterly to northeasterly winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph are expected to develop across the Kachemak Bay area by late Wednesday morning as a strong front lifts north across the Gulf of Alaska.

Winds will increase through Wednesday morning, peaking from mid to late morning and then decreasing but remaining breezy through Wednesday evening.

The cities of Seldovia, Halibut Cove, Nanwalek, Homer, Anchor Point, Ninilchik, and Clam Gulch will be impacted.
