LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A man accused of injuring a Lincoln woman in a drive-by shooting took a plea deal on Monday.
According to court documents, 32-year-old Zachary Skeahan, of Alvo, plead no contest to second-degree assault and unlawful and intentional discharge of a firearm near a building.
Skeahan had been charged with discharge of a firearm near a vehicle or building and use of a firearm to commit a felony. The discharge count was lowered, and the firearm charge was dropped in exchange for Skeahan’s plea.
Skeahan’s sentencing is set for Dec. 12.
The shooting happened on April 22, just before 10 p.m. near 38th Street and Briarwood Avenue, in a neighborhood northwest of 40th Street and Old Cheney Road. Officers responded after receiving reports of gunfire and a person being shot.
