OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - After nearly 50 years with the station, KFAB News radio host Gary Sadlemyer announced his retirement on the air Wednesday morning.
“Time sure flies when you’re havin’ fun,” Sadlemyer said in an iHeartMedia Omaha release. “Since I was a kid growing up in Minnesota, I had a passion for radio. It’s just like anything else, kids who dream about being a doctor or whatever; mine was radio.”
In his announcement , he talked about wanting to spend more time with his children and grandchildren — something his current morning schedule makes difficult.
“In November, it will be 49 years since I walked into this building,” he said in his on-air announcement.
Sadlemyer said he’ll be on the air for about six more weeks — and will be around here and there even after that, especial
