DAMARISCOTTA, Maine — Human remains found in a wooded area of Damariscotta Sunday are believed to be those of a local man who has been missing for nearly six months , according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

A landowner reported finding the remains around 4:35 p.m. Sunday while walking his property line, the sheriff’s office said in a press release. Deputies responded and were later assisted by Maine State Police, the Maine Warden Service, and Damariscotta police.

After examining the scene, investigators determined the remains are possibly those of 34-year-old Tyler Low, who was reported missing by his family on May 5 . The remains were recovered and taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for positive identification and to determine a cause of death.
