EAST GRAND FORKS – Members of the East Grand Forks City Council on Tuesday heard the results of a survey of some local businesses to gauge their recent economic performance.
Economic Development Director Maggie Brockling and Barry Wilfahrt, president of The Chamber of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks, presented the findings during the council’s work session and said they, along with City Administrator Reid Huttunen, visited with the owners or CEOs of 12 large businesses in East Grand Forks to get an idea of what those businesses have been seeing for costs, hiring needs and growth.
The survey and visits were part of a larger project called Grow Minnesota, an initiative from the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce that surveyed businesses across the state.
