A former Lawrence, Massachusetts, police captain has been indicted on four federal charges over a takedown in the department's booking room that was caught on video first uncovered by the NBC10 Investigators.

Former Capt. Michael Mangan faces two counts each of deprivation of rights under color of law and false report over a March 10, 2023, according to the grand jury indictment filed in Massachusetts' U.S. District Court. The indictment says Mangan assaulted someone who'd been arrested, leaving him injured.
