Romario Shepherd and Akeal Hosain each took three wickets, helping the West Indies secure a 14-run victory over Bangladesh in the second Twenty20, thereby clinching a 2-0 lead in the three-match series on Wednesday.

Bangladesh was held to 135-8 after the West Indies had earlier posted 149/9.

Shepherd, the pace bowler, dismissed opener Tanzid Hasan, who was Bangladesh’s top scorer with 61 off 48 balls. Jason Holder also played a key role in restricting the home team, finishing with figures of 2-20.

Holder made an early breakthrough by dismissing opener Saif Hassan (5) before left-arm spinner Akeal removed Liton Das for 23.

Despite dropping four catches, West Indies dominated as Shepherd triggered a collapse from 85-2, claiming the wickets of Tanzid and Jaker Ali (17) in the same over.
