BISMARCK — North Dakotans are encouraged to apply for a pending vacancy on the State Board of Higher Education.

Levi Bachmeier, of West Fargo, is resigning from the board to accept Gov. Kelly Armstrong’s appointment to succeed Kirsten Baesler as superintendent of public instruction.

Bachmeier’s successor on the board will serve out his four-year term, which ends June 30, 2029, according to a news release from the Department of Public Instruction.

To be considered for appointment by the governor, candidates must fill out a one-page application and provide a resume and no more than six letters of reference.
