SPIRIT LAKE NATION, N.D. — Gov. Kelly Armstrong’s visit to the Spirit Lake Nation on Wednesday, Oct. 29, was one of his main priorities during his first term.
In an effort to strengthen state and tribal partnerships, Armstrong is visiting the state’s five tribal nations. Spirit Lake was the fourth reservation he has visited this year.
Lt. Gov. Michelle Strinden and the governor’s cabinet are making the trips as well.
The big issues discussed Wednesday were SNAP, taxation and law enforcement help.
The chairwoman of the Spirit Lake Reservation told the crowd she couldn’t recall a time when so many state leaders came to the reservation together.
