Bacon Academy’s David Mason thought he was attending a schoolwide assembly this morning. Instead, he was surprised with the award of a lifetime and a cash prize of $25,000.
The Milken Award celebrates outstanding educators across the country and selected educators are not aware of their candidacy for the award.

The award was presented by Connecticut Commissioner of Education Charlene M. Russell-Tucker and the Milken Family Foundation’s Dr. Jane Foley at the event held in Mason’s honor. They were joined by students, fellow staff members and state dignitaries.
