The Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged four people following a report of an alleged copper wire theft.

On Sunday, August 17, the Kirkland Lake OPP received a report of alleged abandoned copper wire and suspicious vehicle in the area of Chaput Hughes.

A media release from the OPP states that through a combination of witness statements, police observations, and the execution of three search warrants, officers recovered a significant quantity of industrial-grade copper wire, along with casings and tools that police allege are commonly used for stealing and stripping copper.

As a result of the investigation, Michael DAVIS, a 48-year-old from Kirkland Lake was charged with:

Theft over $5,000

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5
