ORANGEBURG — The State Law Enforcement Division arrested a second man for allegedly bringing a gun to a S.C. State University dorm as police continue to investigate a pair of campus shootings that left a 19-year-old woman dead earlier in the month.

SLED on Oct. 28 charged Treveion James Crawford, 18, with carrying a weapon on school property, the division announced the next day. Police did not connect him with either shooting.

An affidavit attached to an arrest warrant alleges that video taken around 8:33 p.m. on Oct. 4 shows Crawford with a black handgun inside the vest he was wearing while in the courtyard area of the university’s Hugine Suites dorm.

The same night, a shooting at that dorm killed Saluda resident Jaliyah Butler.
