A Cumberland County man will spend 10 to 20 years in prison after he was found guilty of providing drugs to a 27-year-old man who died of an overdose in 2019, according to police.
Edward McCreath, 39, of New Cumberland, was also sentenced to an additional five years in a federal penitentiary for an unrelated offense, Derry Township police said.
Officers accused McCreath of providing drugs which led to the fatal overdose of Nathan Maurer of Harrisburg , on July 4, 2019.
Police said Maurer, 27, was found dead on the property of the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center in Derry Township.
“No arrest, conviction, or prison sentence is going to bring Nathan back to his family,” Derry Township police said in a statement.
Police said Maurer’s family delivered an “emotional and powerful” statem
