OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha Police said Wednesday that the man allegedly in a shootout with officers last month has been booked into the Douglas County Jail.
Dean Wies, 55, is facing charges after police say he fired at handgun at officers. He was hospitalized after responding officers returned fire during the Oct. 16 incident. He was shot in the abdomen and was also bitten by a K-9 officer during the incident, according to police reports.
Police said officers were responding to a burglary report at a West Omaha residence. Investigators later said they believe the break-in was a domestic violence incident, saying the victim had previously been in a relationship with the suspect.
