In the article, “Enumclaw turns out for ‘No Kings’ demonstration,” (published Oct. 22), Editor Ray Miller-Still wrote, “ While hundreds were there, a couple dozen energetic supporters of the president also attended.”

That adjective “energetic” was deceiving.

My experience was they were antagonistic. They arrived at the corners of Griffin and Porter by 11 a.m with loud speakers. As many people gathered the mood and talk became uglier on the corners: “Fuck, fuck, fuck” was blasted into the face of a woman.

They claimed it was free speech. Hmmm.

As Miller-Still mentioned a car with Trump supporters stopped in the intersection slowing traffic several times. Our police department was not nearby avoiding any escalation but would hopefully step in if needed.
